September 08, 2010: BIG DAY Opening of CK-1Mango Cebu!

At One Mango Avenue, Cebu City; the first OFW owned multi-million food franchise!

From the April 15 meeting of KMP Foods and Chowking Head Office with the end goal of "fast tracking" things; if lead time followed; it will be LAST WEEK OF JULY 2010 TO FIRST WEEK OF AUGUST 2010 - the target opening of 1 Mango-Cebu Chowking.

From the recent reports and developments; the agreed 30 day construction period is now FIFTY (50) days.

For the hiring/training; Ms Tata Balbuena will only commence once construction date starts.

60 days needed for Management Trainees
30 days needed for the Kitchen Staff
15 days needed for the Dining Staff

APRIL 7 - UPDATES & refreshers

• KMP Foods, Inc. and Fresh N Famous (Chowking Head Office) had an investment summary meeting and commencement of the 90-day standard target opening date last April 15, 2010 at Jollibee Plaza, Pasig.
• Solara (building owner) and Fresh N Famous are in close coordination and has resolved four items pending before.
• Effective date of lease contract is August 1, 2010. IF opening comes earlier, then lease contract applies whichever is earlier. This means, no additional costs for KMP Foods even if there was delay already in the past.

Manpower Status:

• One (1) existing Management Trainee of KMP Foods, “borrowed” by another Chowking Franchisee in Cebu
• One (1) new Management Trainee from company (Fresh N Famous) owned Red Ribbon will be sent to Manila for the two (2) months Management Training together with the two (2) others provided by Fresh N Famous. 

Update from the KMP Foods M.D. (March 2010)
During the Chowking National Convention held in Cebu last February 19, 2010, Francisco J. Colayco and Tata Balbuena met to discuss the recent developments of KMP Foods (KsK Coop’s) Chowking Franchise in One Mango Avenue, Cebu City.
 
Based on their discussion these are the CHANGED target dates to look out. Please note that these are different from those presented last January 2010 KsK Coop News. Changed target dates are as follows:

April 5, 2010 (originally set on January 2010)
• Turn Over of Lessor (Solara Development Corp) to KMP Foods. The delay is due to Solara Development Corp.
March 8 to 15, 2010 (originally set on the 1st week of February 2010)
• screening of dining and kitchen crew applicants
March 1-31, 2010
• processing of permits and preparation for construction
March 16-30, 2010
• screening of two (2) additional management Trainees (MTs)
April 1 to May 31, 2010
• hiring and training of two (2) additional Management Trainees (MTs)
May 1 to 22, 2010 (originally set on the 3rd week of February)
• hiring and training of dining & kitchen crews
May 24 to 30, 2010 (originally set on the 3rd week of March 2010)
• team building and store dry run
June 2 or 9 or 11 or 14 or 15, 2010 (originally set on the 1st week of April 2010)
• Store opening date

KsK Coop members and/or their family members are invited to apply for any of the forty one (41) vacant positions for the Chowking Restaurant in One Mango Avenue, Cebu City. The application process will be conducted and finalized by Fresh N’ Famous, mother franchisor of Chowking restaurants in the Philippines.
