Employee Financial Wellness

Alarmed by your employees indiscriminate spending?

Do they pawn off their ATM to loan sharks?

Is your office receiving calls from credit card collectors?

More money and more loans are not the solution to your employees’ financial problems.

Are you the lender of last resort for your employees in times of emergency?

Do employees take out loans every May for tuition payments?

Are salary loans the most utilized financial benefit employees avail?

Do your hard working loyal employees face a financially insecure retirement?

Is your top performer distracted by his/her child’s hospital fees?

Have you experienced low take-up of financially rewarding savings & investing programs?

So many Filipino companies face these same personnel issues…

A financially healthy employee

is a productive employee.

An employee who is financially healthy is able to:

  1. meet his/her regular (daily and periodic) financial obligations
  2. manage his/her meaningful debt (i.e. house loan, car loan, business loan, etc.)
  3. address emergency situations through the help of insurance plans and his/her own emergency funds
  4. make his/her own arrangements for a financially secure and independent retirement
  5. work productively because he/she is not burdened by his/her financial problems.

The Colayco Foundation for Education partners with companies for the Financial Wellness of employees. The Colayco Foundation works with companies in the following ways:

Financial Wellness Appraisal

CFE has designed tools and analysis frameworks to assess whether employees are currently experiencing financial stress as well as to assess whether employees are setting themselves up for financial challenges at a future time. Such data is valuable in designing employee benefit packages, determining salary increases, extending loans, etc.

A Financial Wellness Audit is also beneficial in designing financial & investment education programs and regular saving and investing programs.

Personal Finance & Investment Education

CFE develops educational resources in the form of publications, videos and computer programs in order to impart and spread its advocacy. While most resources are commercially available, CFE also develops special publications and materials for companies, communities and the like. Click here for a list of our commercial publications.

CFE also conducts seminars, workshops and edutainment events all geared at improving the financial wellness of employees. Click here for a complete list and description of our various modules. These modules are a guide of what we can offer.

Advisory Services

Through our website, social media accounts, email and SMS hotline; CFE offers free advisory services to the general public regarding their personal finance, investments and debt concerns. Information given through these channels are often general due to the limited information available to CFE which would allow us to respond with greater accuracy.

Companies on retainer arrangement may refer employees to CFE for one-on-one or group coaching conducted face-to-face and over the phone on their concerns regarding personal finance, investments and debt.

The G.O.O.D. (Grow Out Of Debt) Solution

Most employees are burdened by debt – often incurred because of consumer spending or to mitigate financial emergencies. The Be G.O.O.D. Solution is composed of the following: 1) debt education seminar which explains the fundamentals of using credit wisely, 2) debt coaching session/s where a coach will assess the employees personal finance and debt situation, and 3) debt management planning wherein the employee will have a plan of action on how to address his/her debt problem.

Due to CFE’s limited resources, only a select number of companies per quarter are engaged for the Be G.O.O.D. Solution.

Regular Savings & Investing Program

True financial wellness exists when financial awareness and education translates to action. However it can be challenging to make the first step in beginning to save and invest. Investment companies operate during working hours, so employees would have to take time off to begin investing. Investing as an individual can also mean having to make initial investments of larger amounts that the employee may not easily be able to save-up.

CFE works with companies to design (or redesign existing) savings & investing programs for employees with the following components: collection mechanism, investment instrument and a employee education campaign.

Companies have often used such as an additional benefit (whether mandatory or voluntary) and loyalty mechanism.
