Seminars and Workshops

Pera Palaguin Seminars & Workshops have the following objectives:

  • To assure the average income earners that financial independence is within everyone’s reach;
  • To demonstrate that all the means to achieve financial independence are available to everyone willing to learn and avail them;
  • To explain the fundamental rules of wealth generation, income and debt management;
  • To illustrate that personal finance is an everyday concern;
  • To provide simple tools to guide individuals in organizing his financial life; and
  • To enable attendees to prepare their own personal financial plans.

Seminars have been held Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.  Seminars were also held in Asia: Hong Kong, Japan, Taiwan, Malaysia, Singapore and South Korea; Europe:  Milan, Rome, Bologna, and Barcelona; and in the Middle East:  Riyadh and Jeddah.

Upon the invitation of companies, associations, and schools, our speakers/lecturers give one- to two- hour talks to their employees, members and students.  These serve as a wake-up call for the participants that everyone has an obligation to save, that financial independence should not be left to chance and the earlier we prepare for it, the easier it becomes for us.

Pisobilities DVD Series

In December 2007, CFE started the development of educational materials in video format. This is in line with the foundation’s continuing efforts to develop more effective methods for disseminating information to larger audiences.

The Pisobilities DVD Series utilizes experiential education combined with entertainment to teach financial education. This is borne out of informal studies, which indicate that Filipinos can better understand financial concepts and principles if these are associated with experiences that they can relate to. They are also more receptive to serious issues like personal finance if they are entertained. The series will serve as enjoyable supplement to the foundation’s collection of educational materials. The title of the series was derived from the portmanteau word coined by CFE Founder and Chairman Francisco J. Colayco. Pisobilities refers to one’s ability to earn and manage his one peso and the possibilities of making that same one peso work for him. This financial concept is the basic framework for the development of the series.
